Cathy's Run Robin Hood Marathon
It’s 5.00 in the morning & the alarm has just gone off. Time to get up & go for a run before going to work. No going back to sleep. I need to train for my first half-marathon in September.
Its 13 years since I started running. I stuck to this for quite a while never thinking I could do more. (I wouldn’t say I’m a natural runner), then 4 years ago I completed my first 10 mile run. But this is a new challenge.
My little brother, Dominic, has been at Nottingham Mencap for 15 years so I think it is time to do my bit for him and a Charity that has done so much for him over the years. The team that work there and the opportunities he has had have been amazing for him and I want to do my bit to fund their continued help and support for Dominic and others.
I will be coming back to Nottingham to take part in the Robin Hood Marathon. It will be great to be back on home territory & it looks a good course around the city. I hope I can still say that after Mile 9 J
I only hope I can make it & raise lots of money for Nottingham Mencap.
Right let’s get running!
And running Cathy did! Congratulations on your fantastic run and our heart felt thanks on raising £958 and counting! Updates to follow. Cathy at the finish with Dominic bottom left.
