Pete's 24hr Fund Raising Run

In my alternate identify of Pirate Pete I will be taking part in the Equinox 24 hour race at Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire on 23rd & 24th September. The race starts at midday on the Saturday & runs / walks / crawls through until midday on the Sunday.

The aim is to start  / finish as many 10 km (6.2 mile) off road laps in the 24 hours as possible. Most people enter as a relay team with their friends & take turns in running the laps. But as pirates don't have any friends I've entered in the solo category.

I'm hoping to do at least 10 or 12 laps which would be 60 to 75 miles. The furthest I've done in the past was a race of 50 miles. But I went so slowly that it took almost 17 hours, I was nearly 3 hours over the race cut off time & the organisers had packed up & were going home!

I will be wearing my natty pirate head gear for some, if not all the race & am raising sponsorship for a worthy charity close to my heart called Nottingham Mencap. They do marvellous work making a positive difference to the lives of people with a learning disability & their carers within the Greater Nottingham area.

So anything you can spare, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. Gold Spanish doubloons will naturally also be accepted.

Thanks for reading this far me 'arties!

It's an Aaarrgghhhhh from

Pirate Pete & probably also my legs!
