Short Breaks Service
What We Offer
We provide a variety of Short Breaks Services in Nottingham City and County. Everything we do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, and their families and carers.
Our 'Sitting' Service
Available for clients over the age of 5 years which enables parents and carers to have some ‘time out’ whilst the client is fully supported in their usual home based activities.
Our Befriending Service
Clients can access social and leisure activities in the community, for example children may require support to enable to them to go to swimming or rock climbing events whilst adults may enjoy time shopping or maybe a visit to the local public house.
In addition to offering respite for parents and carers this service enables people to build on their life skills – building self-confidence and self-esteem. Clients are responsible for paying expenses incurred during the sessions such as entrance fees into the cinema.
We offer a structured personal service that provides transitional support for clients which includes independent living skills.
This service provides opportunities for clients to achieve goals within agreed time scales. It is tailored to meet individual needs, by practising basic life skills within their own home and in the community.
Clients increase their confidence and self esteem whilst learning skills that open up opportunities for further education, employment or volunteering roles.
