Service (Development) Manager Children and Young People (aged 5-25)

We are excited to announce this new role within Nottingham Mencap.

Nottingham Mencap prides itself in offering sector leading services, that fulfil a local need and offer opportunities for the people we support to learn, grow, socialise and have fun.

We offer a range of services for children as young as 5, up to and through transitioning into adult services. You will be working alongside the adult services and development manager to ensure joined up working.

Along with the daily management of staff, you will have a strategic overview of the services and have the ability to work with those involved to make changes to meet local need, which will include the development of new services.

A key element of this role is to work closely with parents, carers, and educational settings, so good communication skills are a must. If you have experience working in an SEN setting, have understanding of Ofsted/ CQC and management/ development skills please do get in touch.

Mid-day cook, Day Service

As we are moving to our new building we are looking to expand our staffing. As such, we are recruiting a cook to provide lunches for up to 40 people per day.

We have brand new facilities and a top quality kitchen where you will lead the creation of a varied and healthy lunch option.

Some experience working with people with a learning disability or autism is essential as there will be a small group of able people working with you.

You will be in charge of the kitchen space and ensure that the hygiene standard is excellent and lead on the grocery purchases each week.

We are looking for someone between 3 - 5 days per week, hours between 09:30 - 14:00.

Rate of pay is £13 per hour

Support and Enablement Worker

We are looking for caring and supportive people to become an enablement worker with us. We’re particularly interested in people who can work after school, evenings and weekends. Availability through school holidays is a bonus too as many of the people we support are of school age and require support through school breaks.

We need people to support children, young people and adults on a 1-2-1 basis in the community, accessing community services and supporting the person to achieve their specific aims (such as socialising, travel training, healthy living etc).

There will also be opportunities to work as part of a team over the weekend supporting a group of young people within our building and in the community. For more information please see the M8’s and Gener8 section under ‘services’.
