Support Workers Needed – Make a Difference in NG6, Nottingham

We are looking for 2 reliable and compassionate Support Workers to join a small team of Nottingham Mencap befrienders who support a lady with learning disabilities in the NG6 area.
Providing 1:1 support both in the home and out in the community, day to day responsibilities will include:
• Supporting with evening routines including bathing and getting ready for bed.
• Helping the lady to engage with the local community for example through trips to the park, social clubs and shopping.
• Assisting with participation in social activities such as attending church
• Working collaboratively with the family to ensure consistent and person-centred support
There are two part time roles available to cover the following hours:
Weekdays: Monday – Friday 5pm – 8pm
Weekends: Saturday and Sunday 10am – 4pm
We’re flexible about how these hours are split between the roles but anticipate each role will be for 10-15 hours per week on a permanent employment contract.
We’re looking for people who:
• Can offer long term commitment to support on an ongoing basis
• Have experience supporting people with learning disabilities
• Are able to their use own initiative but happy to take direction from the family too
• Have a calm, patient and encouraging approach

Support and Enablement Worker - Befriending and Weekends
We are looking for caring and supportive people to become an enablement worker with us. We’re particularly interested in people who can work after school, evenings and weekends. Availability through school holidays is a bonus too as many of the people we support are of school age and require support through school breaks.
We need people to support children, young people and adults on a 1-2-1 basis in the community, accessing community services and supporting the person to achieve their specific aims (such as socialising, travel training, healthy living etc).
There will also be opportunities to work as part of a team over the weekend supporting a group of young people within our building and in the community. For more information please see the M8’s and Gener8 section under ‘services’.
Pay: £12.60
There is a minimum age of 18 to do this role.
